Hey Everyone!!
I miss them and I wish that they were still here, but it was
So the Lord has been blowing me away! Boot Camps this year were awesome! Teaching these kids the inductive method was such a privilege and joy. It was hard and the Lord definitely taught us all A LOT, but the last day (when they did their chapter study, on James 5, on their own) was so cool to see them understand how to study their Bible. I've kept in touch with a hand full of campers and they have said that they are continuing to study on their own! It is just SO exciting to see the Lord at work. It was so great to see my brother and sister for a week while they came to the 2nd Boot Camp.
I miss them and I wish that they were still here, but it was
great to see them for as much as I could! There were a bunch of families at this boot camp (which was a lot of fun) and we all decided to take a "family photo":
Being able to teach at Boot Camp was really great! The first camp I was so nervous and had my whole game plan written out. By the 2nd camp I truly believe that the Holy Spirit was guiding me without my "game plan" being in the way. I lead
discussion on James 4 one day and I had a plan but threw it away because the Lord wanted to work in a different way. It was so amazing how the Lord used me in ways that I could never imagine. That was one of the things Ryan (my co-teacher) and I prayed for the most, was that the Lord would lead us. We didn't want to get in the way of what the Holy Spirit wanted to do. He used us in such big ways that we couldn't help but acknowledge that it was the Lord's doing and that He was working in BIG ways!
Sports time was really fun as well. We had the Gladiator event again. Here is a picture of all the gladiators after battling the campers on "The Hill". We set up this huge black tarp that was covered in soapy water. The campers had to get to the top while battling the Gladiators:) :
I also was blessed to help lead worship. It was so much fun and the Lord also stretched and grew me there as well! He taught me so much this last week I don't even know where I would start! He is so good and so faithful! Here we are at one of the nightly main sessions:
Camp ended on Tuesday afternoon. Everyone went home, including all of the interns (except Yasmin). So Yasmin and I decided to go
on a road trip down to Georgia:)
We drove to Ryan's house(where Nick was a
lso staying the night) and stayed with his family for a couple of nights (Ryan and Nick are both interns as well). We went to the Beach (St. Simons) one day and had a picnic. It was so much fun!
We also went to the smallest church in America. It was pretty cool! This is us in the church:
And this is Ryan ringing the bell outside of the church:)!
Then we went to visit some friends near Atlanta. We watched the fireworks with them last night and went to a SuperTarget. It is pretty much the craziest thing EVER! It had 32 check out stands. It was amazing and they were making fun of my excitement. It had a starbucks and a pizza hut in it!! We even bought cherries! Wow! We need to get one of those in California! It even Tonight we are going to a Braves game with them tonight and then going to church with them tomorrow. We will be heading back to Chattanooga soon after that! :) Yas and I have been so blessed by the body of Christ. It has been so restful to sit and fellowship with brothers and sisters across the country. The Lord has been so good to us. Yas and I were praying in the car yesterday and we just couldn't stop thanking the Lord for His faithfulness. He is so good to us. We are so blessed. Thank you for your prayers!
